What elements are included in the planning section of an improvement plan?

Depending on the improvement requirements detected, the improvement actions deemed appropriate to attain a specific aim shall be included, those responsible for implementation and expected performance period shall be planned.

  • Identifying the AdM. The AdM will be identified in line with the following code XXXX-AdM-NN, where XXXX is the degree code and NN is a serial number. For example, the first improvement action set out in the improvement plan for the master's programme MXXX will be MXXX-AdM-01
  • Improvement aim. This is the specific aspect to be improved and corrected. It must be formulated in the present tense in a specific, measurable and assessable way. It is necessary to consider that the aim may often be attained through multiple actions and it is actions, not aims, that are listed and coded.
    • SMART methodology is a useful way to define aims. The aims must be:
      • S. Specific
      • M. Measurable
      • A. Achievable
      • R. Relevant
      • T. Time-bound
  • Improvement action: this is the specific action to be performed in order to attain the proposed aim
  • The supervisor for each action is the person or unit that implements the improvement action. The quality officer may allocate improvement actions to different people, groups, etc. In any event, they must be notified of their responsibility for the action
  • Expected start and end date for the action.
